American Dynamic’s VideoEdge team is proud to release its latest NVR software v6.1.1. This is a minor release aimed at our goal of continuous, frequent enhancement of NVR cybersecurity and overall performance. As a trusted provider of enterprise physical security solutions, American Dynamics follows the guidance of JCI’s Cyber Solution policies.
Key security enhancements in v6.1.1 include an upgrade of the VideoEdge OS and extension of Media Encryption to additionally encrypt LPR Metadata. Encryption keys may be saved as part of standard NVR configuration backup to recover use of any previously encrypted media if desired.
Also, the Intelligent Person Search (Person Re-ID) analytic has been enhanced to support edge-based inferencing on Illustra cameras with compatible firmware. Offloading the processing overhead from the NVR to the Illustra camera results in much higher scalability. This enables more video streams capable of Person Re-ID searches so persons-of-interest can be located faster when seconds matter. Edge-based Person Re-ID requires no additional analytic licenses on compatible Illustra cameras.
Finally, as part of our mission to provide innovative solutions to challenging problems, and in order to uphold our commitment to JCI security policies, v6.1.1 removes the victorWeb LT web-based client from VideoEdge. The client will not be available on future releases of VideoEdge due to JCI security policy and dependencies on the VideoEdge OS update. However, we are pleased to announce that a new lightweight, free-to-license VMS solution is under development and will provide expanded video performance with a streamlined user experience.
